HOW IT WORKS
Input: waste
Drill cuttings, oil-contaminated soil and waste drilling mud contain toxic substances, therefore special disposal at "landfills" is required. In case of

offshore drilling, untreated waste is transported onshore. Oil content in oil-based drill cuttings is from 5% to 25%
Thermal desorption
Continuous technical process — 24 hours per day at the place of formation or storage of drilling waste. In-line separation into components is resulted from heating in enclosed chamber without oxygen access where total evaporation of water and oil products takes place. Then dried and treated soil is moistened with water and granulated into crushed rock.
Output: products
1. Recovered oil (mineral and synthetic oil, liquid paraffin, diesel fuel) can be reused for preparation of drilling mud or as fuel for MobileTDU and client’s needs on site

2. Process water produced during treatment can be used for own needs on site

3. Solids can be used for road construction, backfilling of treated cuttings pits and after granulation can be certified as construction material (crushed rock)

Equipment
A wide range of thermal desorption units of various capacity and design is offered. When drill cuttings are treated at temperature of 300°C, toxicity of drill cuttings is reduced by 10 times, and at 500°C, drill cuttings are completely detoxified.
MobileTDU-1 Compact
Super-compact and self-contained unit with diesel burner for exploratory and field drilling. The unit can be installed and started within 24 hours. Maximum capacity of the unit is 1 ton of drill cuttings per hour.

Impact

30% of solid industrial waste in Russia is oil sludge, i.e. pollution from gas and oil industry. Industrial and process drilling waste is the most hazardous as it contains many chemicals and has been polluting the environment for decades. Startup of PMI Solutions unit 1 prevents contamination and preserves ecosystem of about 15.000 hectares.
